Clinics and Master Classes

Dr. Shank enjoys working with flutists of all ages. In addition to traditional master classes, audition preparation classes, and chamber music coaching sessions, workshops are available on the topics below, as well as topics of your choosing. She also enjoys offering lectures on topics in Russian music history, career development, and arts advocacy. Tone Builders Using Extended Techniques

Extended techniques are a part of the musical language of many modern composers. Several techniques are also excellent, and fun, ways to improve your tone. Participants will learn to use harmonics, whistle tones, pitch bending, singing and playing and other techniques to improve their sound.
